The following conventions apply for
operating the instrument controls
from the PC:
00h = Statistics
01h = Delete last
02h = Results
03h = Delete all
04h = Operate
05h = Setup
06h = Reference
08h = Transmittance
09h = Haze
0Ah = Clarity
The instrument acknowledges each
control command with 2 characters
(bytes).
First byte: control command (echo)
Second byte: "!" (21h)
If the PC sends the instrument a 4
(= operate) while the instrument is
in any measuring mode, a meas-
urement will be started. When the
first measurement reading is
available, the instrument sends a
66h (ASCII code for lower-case ‘f’)
to the PC (readout). Then the
measured values are transmitted.
Data is always transmitted for all
three parameters. The status string
contains the information about the
validity and sequence of readings
(bytes 2 and 3).
For the measured value, four ASCII
characters followed by a 0 byte are
transmitted.
Example: 39h+35h+2Ch+34h+00h
is equivalent to a measured value of
95.4.
